오늘 DSO 직원한테 물어보니까 새로운 대학원의 I-20를 트랜스퍼 하려면 새로운 학교에서 4/1부터 너가 full time으로 수업을 들어야지만 새로운 I-20 로 합법적인 체류를 할 수 있다, 그렇지 않으면 불법 체류이다 (4/1이 opt 유예마감) 라고 하는데...학기시작일이 반드시 4/1이여 하나요 밑에는 DSO 의 답변 첨부합니다
As explained on the phone and to summarize; the grace period between the end of your OPT (which ended on January 31,2021) and when you are expected to leave the country ends April 1. Your F1 visa expires in June and the MFA program you have been accepted to does not begin until the end of August. Between January and August is an 8 month period that you will not be maintaining status and the only way to transfer your record is if the MFA program began within the grace period (aka it begins on April 1). If the school can start your program on April 1 I can transfer the record, but as it starts in August I am not able to transfer the record. In your current circumstance you are advised to exit the country while it is still within your grace period, get a new I20 issued from the MFA university pay the

DSO가 이민국 규정을 바꿀수는 없다고 보면, (

How long must a student with an Active SEVIS record wait between ending classes at a transfer-out school and starting classes at a transfer-in school? 설문을 클릭해 보시기 바랍니다) transfer 받는 새학교에서 start date가 OPT 만료일(1/31)로부터 5개월 이내이면 되므로, 6월 30일 이전에 start date가 찍힌 새로운 I-20를 받아 주시면 transfer가 가능합니다. DSO가 규정을 잘못 알고 있거나, 도와 줄 의사가 없기 때문에 무조건 안된다고만 하는 것으로 볼 수 있습니다. 이민국 규정을 보여 주시고 새 학교의 i-20를 새로 받으셔서 다시 한번 요청해 보시기 바랍니다.
