First, you need to understand about student loan. Many people believe that only student who receives a little free financial aid should apply and take student loan. This is not true. Student receiving maximum free financial aid can apply and receive student loan if he or she wants. You say that your child should take a student loan because the information of parents’ income was not correct in FAFSA. I recommend that your child or you need to contact with Financial Aid Office and ask why your child should take a student loan. Also, your child can check the information of parents’ income in FAFSA with financial aid counselor if he or she takes your Income Tax Return. If anything about parents’ income in FAFSA is incorrect, it can be corrected by financial aid counselor and financial aid will be changed.
