Graduate student can have up to $8000 ($4000 per year). Graduate student needs to meet following eligibility requirements
(1) 3.25 GPA
(2) Agree to teach full-time at least 4 years at a school with a high percentage of low-income students within 8 years of graduation
(3) Agree to teach a specific subject

unsubsidized loan이란 loan을 받고 다음달 부터 6.8%이자를 매달 내고 대학원 졸업하면 바로 원금도 갚은건가요?
Answer:
You will be charged annual interest (6.8%) as soon as direct unsubsidized loan is paid out to you through school. You can start making repayment after graduation (You will have 6 months grace period). There are 5 repayment plans. You can choose a repayment plan. The satandard repayment plan is fixed payment up to 10 years. You can find more information about repayment plans at www. studentaid.ed.gov/repaying/
