In CA, there is no legal requirement that you provide child or supposal support unless there is a court order. In order for your wife to get support, she has to file a motion with the court to get it. Since you wife is not working, you will have to pay support if and when she files for one, including possibly her attorney's fees.
As for you, you can file a motion for child custody or visitation as well.
The best thing to do is to try and resolve those issues amicably with your wife.
