얼마전 차들이 거의 안다니는 도로에서 one way 사인을 못보고 역방향으로 진입하려다 바로 방향을 반대로 틀었는데 경찰한테 걸렸습니다.
생전 처음 경찰한테 걸린거라 당황했는데 처음이니 봐달라해도 안통하더군요.

그거 하나만이면 덜 억울하겠는데 제가 중고차를 구입한 후로 아직 sticker를 받지못해서 번호판을 달지 않은채로 다니고 있습니다. 딜러한테 연락해보니 DMV에서 메일로 발송한게 분실된거 같다고합니다. 그래서 다음주에 dmv에 직접 받으러 갈 예정입니다. 암튼 그상태에서 경찰한테 걸리다보니 sticker랑 번호판 안단것까지 ticket을 발부했습니다. 제가 알기론 번호판 안달아도 앞유리창에 딜러가 붙여놓은 차량정보 스티커가 있으면 괜찮은걸로 아는데요.

이렇게 2건 위반으로 court에서 bail amount로 $237 이 나왔는데 이게 벌금인가요? 다 내야하는건지, 줄일수 있는 방법은 있는지 알고싶네요. court 출석도 해야하는거 맞죠? 무죄 주장하려면 무슨 증거도 제시해야하고 서류같은거도 작성해야하는거 같은데 어디까지해야하는건지 잘 모르겠네요. 아래에 제가 받은 레터 내용 그대로 옮겨놓습니다. 제가 해야할 일들좀 자세히 알려주세요.

To pay by mail, place check & top portion of notice in the envelope provided, making check payable to "LASC" & note citation #. To plead not guilty, note "Not Guilty" on the check. You may avoid a court appearance by completing a trial by declaration form. Request the form when submitting your check or by phone. Payment must be received before due date or, pursuant to penal code section 1214.1, citation is subject to $300 civil assessment. All court appearances are by appointment only.

Mechanical/Registration/Driver's License Violations also require proof of correction. Eligible mechanical violations will be dismissed upon showing proof from an official law enforcement inspection station. All citations issued on and after 1/1/09 with correctable violations require a $25 proof of correction transaction fee per correctable violation. Prior to 1/1/09, the bail amount is $10. Send proof with payment by the due date. Inspection stations may also charge a fee.

첫번째는 One Way Street에 완전히 들어간것이 아니라면 Court Hearing 날짜에 Court에 가서 판사에게 항변할 수 있습니다. 그렇지 않으면 벌금을 Court에 내시면 됩니다.
두번째는 DMV에서 받은 차량등록 Sticker를 보여주면 Dismiss가 됩니다. Ticket에 있는 Instruction을 따라 하시면 됩니다.

2건으로 받으신것 같은데요. 중고차는 새차랑 틀려서 번호판이 이미 assign이 되어있습니다. 만약에 중고차를 샀을때 번호판이 없었다면 DMV에 가셔서 받으실수 있습니다. sticker랑 license plates에 대한 티켓은 correctable 이기 때문에 코트나 경찰서에서 $25.00 에clear해줄수 있구요. one way road 진입한 건에 대해선 벌금을 내셔야 할것 같습니다. 코트에 가셔서 2번째건에대해서는 waive 받으시고 one violation 에 대한 벌금만 내시면 됩니다. 트래픽 스쿨에 가시면 DMV에 포인트가 올라가지 않습니다.
