First, you need to find out if you are eligible to even file for divorce in the State you are currently filing. Most States require a 3 or 6 months residency period before one can file for divorce in that State. Assuming you can file it, serving your spouse who is in Korea may not be too much of a problem. However, if the court here doesn't have any jurisdiction over your spouse, then all you can obtain is a simple decree of divorce and nothing more. As such, assets, debts, child or supposal issues cannot be determined.
To serve, simply have anyone over 18 years old personally deliver the lawsuit to your spouse. UPS or certified mail does not work unless your spouse signs a notice of acknowledgement of receipt.
