안녕하세요?
금일 아침 EDD Web site서 확인 한 바로, 미국 의회에서 실업수당 연장 신청에 대한 의결을 하지 않아, 실업 수당 연장이 안될거라는 내용을 보았읍니다.
현재 실업 수당은
- 정규 26주
- 4번의 Tier로 53주
- Federal Extension : 20주로 되어
총 99주간의 실업수당 연장이 되는것으로 알고 있읍니다.
그렇다면 26주 정규 실업수당 외에는 일체의 연장이나 추가 지불이 안된다는 내용 인가요?
더불어 금일 아침 TVK24 한국 방송에서도 더이상의 연장이 안된다고 방송을 하던데...
혹 본 내용에 대하여 정확히 알고 있으신분 계시면 답변 부탁드립니다.
저는 이번주로 정규 실업수당 (26주) 분이 끝납니다.
그렇다면 이후 어떠한 실업 수당도 받을수 없다는 이야기 인가요?
걱정이네요, Job은 안잡히고 받던 실업수당 마져, 끊긴다면 당장 다음달부터 길거리에 나앉을 판인데...

Federal Unemployment Insurance Extensions
(Updated June 8, 2010)Sunday, May 23, 2010 marks the beginning of the current deadlines for filing for federal extensions of Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits. Congress has been discussing the possibility of extending the filing deadlines in order to grant more access to the federal extensions currently available. Various options being considered include extending the filing deadline for another 30 days or extending it all the way through November or December of 2010. But at this point, no decisions have been made. Congress has now adjourned for a week and plans to take up the issue upon its return June 7.
If that occurs and Congress does act to authorize an extension of the filing deadline during the week of June 7 then EDD anticipates there should be little disruption in benefits for our customers. If a decision is delayed any longer than that, customers coming up on the end of their regular claim or any one of the four current tiers of federal extensions may be prevented from qualifying for any further extension benefits.
We understand these UI benefits are critical to many of our customers and that you need as much information as possible about potential benefits available so you can plan accordingly. EDD will be closely monitoring developments in Washington D.C and will be continually updating this Web site news item to keep you informed.
It should be noted, however, that at the moment Congress is not discussing the addition of any further benefits to the current maximum total of up to 99 weeks of UI benefits available. It is only discussing the extension of deadlines for filing federal extension claims which allows more time for those most recently unemployed in this recession to qualify for extended unemployment benefits.
