안녕하세요

현재 제가 학생F1이고 AOS신청중이구요.
친구로부터 수수료없이 온라인으로 주식투자할수 있다는 웹사이트를 소개받았습니다 (https://www.robinhood.com/signup/print/)

그런데 가입할때는 특별히 영주권자나 시민권자임을 묻는 질문이 없었는데
여기 웹사이트에 원서(APPLICATION)을 제출 다 하고 보니,
W-9 CERTIFICATE라고 적혀있고 시민권자나 영주권자를 지칭하는 것 같습니다
단순히 SSN이나 집주소, 은행계좌 모두 입력만 요구했구요.

정확하게는 이런 약관이 원서를 제출하고 보니 있었습니다.

W-9 CERTIFICATE
Under penalties of perjury, I certify that: (1) the number shown on this form is My correct taxpayer identification number (or I am waiting for a number to be issued to Me), and (2) I am not subject to backup withholding because: (a) I am exempt from backup withholding, or (b) I have not been notified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that I am subject to backup withholding as a result of a failure to report all interest or dividends, or (c) the IRS has notified Me that I am no longer subject to backup withholding, and (3) I am a U.S. citizen or other U.S. person (defined below).

If I have been notified by the IRS that I am currently subject to backup withholding because I have failed to report all interest and dividends on My tax return, I will send an email to support@robinhood.com with “Backup Withholding” in the title.

Definition of a U.S. person. For federal tax return purposes, I am considered a U.S. person if I am: An individual who is a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien, a partnership, corporation, company, or association created or organized in the United States or under the laws of the United States, an estate (other than a foreign estate), or a domestic trust (as defined in Regulations section 301.7701-7).

The Internal Revenue Service does not require My consent to any provisions of this document other than the certifications required to avoid backup withholding.

문제는 혹시 제가 영주권자나 시민권자가 아닌데, 현재 AOS도 진행중이고,
이런 일 때문에 이민법상 불이익을 받지 않을까 걱정입니다.
알기로는 영주권자나 시민권자가 아님에도 그렇게 주장을 한다면,
이민법상 큰 불이익이 있다고 알고 있습니다.

당장 이 온라인 투자회사에 고객센터에 이메일로 연락을 해서
신청서를 철회하겠다고 의사표현을 했구요.

이런 경우 나중에 이민국이 문제삼으면 어떻게 해야될까요?
(아니면 Definition of US person에서 학생비자가 정의에 해당되어서 괜찮은지요?)
