Hello,

My current status of documentation is 'undocumented'. I would like to inquire about U-Visa because I believe that I am a qualified individual.

Back in either 2006 or 2007, I was a victim of a robbery at gun point. This all happened while I was working at a liquor store. There were no physical harms caused by the incident and I do not have any medical record or report stating the possible condition caused by the incident but I had to quit the job immediately after because I was mentally traumatized by the incident. The police report was filed at the time and years later, in 2014, I was called in to testify as a witness on a murder trial. The same people who robbed me at gun point had murdered someone at a different location. I did attend the court and testified everything that had happend as a witness.

Please advise whether I am qualified to apply for U-Visa.

2007년과 2014년에 있던 사건 관련 케이스가 이미 종결이 되셨다면, 현재로서는 U 비자를 신청하기는 어려우실듯 사료됩니다.

I am not quite sure whether applicant needs to apply U-visa within certain period of time from the time incident took place. Otherwise, I think your situation has merit, especially if the "robbers" were convicted as a result of your testimony in 2014..

Its been a while so I did get the date wrong. The incident happened back in 2004. I was called in to testify in 2014. In result, the suspect became 749th criminal to receive death penalty if I remember correctly. It is case of Leonardo Cisneros, a vicious murdered who had killed 2 people for no reason and robbed 18 others, including myself.

캐빈장 변호사님, 몇몇 U비자에 관한 질문에 종료된 사건은 신청하기 어렵다는 답변을 몇번 올리셨는데, Avvo Q&A 에 보면 거의 모든 변호사들이 종료된 사건, 오래된 사건도 신청 가능하다고 합니다. 혹시 이부분에 대해서 자세한 설명 해주실수 있나요? 부탁 드리겠습니다.
