"If survivor benefits are the child's only income, they are not taxable . . . "

social security survivor benefits이 아이의 only 인컴이면,

survivor benefits are the child's only income.

The quote,
"If survivor benefits are the child's only income, they are not taxable . . . "

maybe NOT true according to the 국세청 link below;

https://www.irs.gov/faqs/social-security-income

Are social security survivor benefits for children considered taxable income?
Answer:
Yes, under certain circumstances,

하지만
although a child generally won't receive enough additional income to make the child's social security benefits taxable.

또는
세금 준비 회사인 H&R Block, Inc link below;

https://www.hrblock.com/tax-center/income/retirement-income/claiming-social-security-survivor-benefits/#:~:text=Social%20security%20survivor%20benefits%20for,tax%20during%20a%20tax%20year.

Social security survivor benefits for children are taxable income only for the children who are entitled to receive them, even if the checks are issued or direct deposited into an account belonging to the surviving parent or guardian.

하지만
Most children don’t earn enough to owe tax during a tax year.
